Making Good Choices!

Dear12th Grade Parents/Guardians,

Harmony will be partnering with the Director of Pregnancy Resource Medical Center of Fort Bend County’s Client Services, Mrs. Stewards. She has seven years of experience counseling and advocating for students ages 11 and up, who are often confused and fearful about age-appropriate sexual behavior. Your child is being educated to expect the best for his/her academic future.
There will be a Parent Information Night on Thursday, February 12th from 6:30 – 7:30pm in the West cafeteria to share the content of the new program that will be offered to all seniors. This program will share valuable information to parents regarding “Sexual Integrity” that could be beneficial to your student. Topics to be discussed include “sexting, peer pressure, friends with benefits, sexually transmitted diseases and avoiding anyone or anything that can jeopardize a successful academic future.”

This is an after-school extracurricular program that is sponsored by one of our parents. Parent and student participation is absolutely voluntary. If you are interested in participating you are welcome to attend the Parent Information Night held on Thursday, February 12th from 6:30pm – 7:30pm to review its content.

Re-Enrollment for 2015-2016 School Year

Re-Enrollment for the 2015-16 school year has begun! We are happy to announce the process is entirely online now. Simply log in to your child's Database account with your parent password and click the Re-enrollment link. The link will not be visible when logged in with the student password.

After clicking the link, you will be asked to verify the student's date of birth. Upon entering the correct date of birth, the re-enrollment form will appear. Fill out the information, confirm, and submit. You will receive a confirmation email and your child's enrollment for next year will be complete!

Please make sure to complete this by February 1st, 2015! Returning students that complete this by the deadline are guaranteed enrollment for the upcoming school year. Returning students that fail to meet this deadline will have to go through the entire lottery process again. With extremely limited space available, chances of admission through the lottery will not be great.

If you have any questions or experience any difficulties, please feel free to contact our registrar, Ms. Harris, at breanna.harris@harmonytx.org or call the front office at 281-302-6445.

Also, we recommend changing both the parent and student password for your child's database account periodically to keep your child's information secure. This would be a good opportunity to do so while completing the re-enrollment.

Accountability Ratings–HSS-High Met Standards

Texas Education Agency has recently announced the Accountability Ratings for Texas Public Schools and Districts for 2013-2014.

Under the new state accountability system, campuses in Texas that achieve the rating of Met Standard were also able to earn distinction designations in seven areas.

And HSS High met standard and earned six out of six eligible distinctions. There were only 26 districts in the state of Texas that received a distinction designation for postsecondary readiness and HSS Houston was one of them!

Congratulations to all students and teachers for their efforts and thank you parents for your continuous support!
